Diamond Cut

Diamonds, which have a history spanning thousands of years, have always managed to attract people's attention. It is impossible not to be affected by diamonds, both due to their formation in nature and the fine workmanship in their cuts. Diamond cutting, which has an important place in the 4C rule that determines this effect, is the only area where human beings intervene in diamonds.

The most important factor that provides brilliance in a diamond is the cutting process. The best results of these cuts are Excellent and Very Good cuts. The thinner a diamond is cut, the more it shines. The thicker it is cut, the less it shines. Since light will travel more in a diamond that is cut correctly, the diamond will shine much more.

Diamond Cut Types
There are 5 different types of diamond cuts. If we list them from bottom to top;

Poor
Fair
Good
Very Good
Excellent
Among these cut types, the cuts below the good cut diamond are the diamond cut types where the possibility of seeing the brilliance of the diamond is reduced. The most ideal and preferred cut of the diamond is called "Brilliant Cut". Even from the cut type of a diamond, it is possible to understand whether the diamond is real or not. Diamond Shapes
Another title that is confused with cut is diamond shapes. Another point where human beings interfere with diamonds other than cut is the title of diamond shapes. There are standard diamond shapes. The most well-known and ideal cut is the round brilliant cut. This shape, which is used especially in solitaire rings, is one of the most preferred diamond shapes. There are also heart, emerald, oval, drop, marquise, princess (square), baguette diamond shapes.

Ideal Diamond Cut
For a diamond to have an ideal cut, it must be cut in perfect proportions. A diamond has the ideal cut diamond characteristics to the extent that it circulates light from different angles and gives it sparkle and brilliance. In short, the cut that allows all the light to come out is the ideal cut.

The quality of a diamond cut is determined by the diamond's light reflection and refraction values. The light entering from one side of a diamond that has been carefully cut to ideal proportions travels to the other side and spreads out from the upper part where there are 33 facet sections. The reason for the spread, shine and whiteness on the upper side of the diamond is the high number of facets.

Other diamond cutting techniques are fine cut, shallow cut and deep cut respectively. These techniques are determined as 5 different diamond cut types in international standards.

When buying a diamond ring, we recommend that you pay attention to the internationally certified diamond and, if possible, Very Good and Excellent cuts.
